Due to the water outage that began Monday, June 1, 2026, the TOWN OF ESTANCIA is advising its water consumers to boil water prior to consuming and/or seek an alternative source of drinking water, such as bottled water.
Community Water Conservation Notice
The Town of Estancia is asking all residents, businesses, and community members to conserve water beginning today and continuing through the summer months.
At this time, the Town’s water storage tanks are low, and staff is actively working to address the situation. To assist with recovery and help maintain reliable water service, we are asking the community to reduce unnecessary water use wherever possible.
Please help by:
• Limiting outdoor watering
• Watering only early in the morning or later in the evening, if necessary
• Avoiding washing vehicles, sidewalks, driveways, or buildings
• Checking for leaks in faucets, hoses, toilets, and irrigation systems
• Using water only as needed
This is a conservation request to help support the Town’s water system. There is no need for alarm, but community cooperation is important at this time.
The Town appreciates everyone’s patience, cooperation, and responsible water use as staff continues working on the issue.

TextMyGov Announcement
The Town of Estancia is pleased to announce the launch of TextMyGov, a simple communication tool that allows residents to receive important updates and access information anywhere using texting technology. This new government SMS service makes it easier than ever for the community to stay informed through a reliable text message from government officials.
The Town of Estancia officially launched this mass text notification system in 2025. Residents may receive an initial government text message from 91896 on behalf of the town to introduce the service. Participation is optional, and anyone may opt out at any time by texting STOP.
If you do not receive the initial message, you can sign up by texting the keyword “estancia alerts” to 91896. After sending the keyword, you will be asked to reply YES to confirm participation. Once subscribed, residents may receive government text messages related to events, important updates, emergency information, weather text alerts and more. Additional text message alerts may become available by texting a specific group keyword to 91896. If there are specific types of updates you would like to receive, please inform the town.
Residents will also have access to information 24/7 by texting one or two keywords in your question to the town telephone number, 5053847771. This option allows users to quickly receive a government message with details about services, offices, community resources, and other important town information. Next time you have a question about the town, try texting this number to test out the service.
The town’s adoption of TextMyGov reflects an ongoing commitment to improving public communication using modern and convenient tools. This service will provide a more accessible and responsive way to stay informed about what is going on in the community and receive government services. Many agencies nationwide are already using this texting technology successfully, and we are proud to offer the same benefits to our community.
